A magnificent pair of sterling silver, three light candelabra made in the Rococo style. These candelabra are made after a design by Paul de Lamerie. The columns have a bust of an aged Bacchus, supporting a central capital. There are three detachable scroll arms with female busts and three capitals. The candelabra has a scroll shell and vine leaf decoration, and the scroll tri-form bases are decorated with vine leaves, too. Dimensions: height 52.70 cm, width/span 36 cm, base 20 cm Exhibitions: This pair is a copy, the originals, which can be found in the Metropolitan Museum in New York, were made by Paul de Lamerie in 1747.
