These exceptional mid-eighteenth-century antique cast George II sterling silver, have shaped six shell bases with conforming shaped detachable nozzles. Each capital is fitted with the original hallmarked push-fit sconce, accented with shell decoration to the corners. The upper portion of the waisted-shaped column features a paneled quatrefoil-shaped knop embellished with lobed shell designs. Each paneled column is further ornamented with a plain circular knop to the lower portion. These antique Georgian silver candlesticks are cast and do not have weighted bases. Dimensions, height 8.5 inches, 21.6 cm. Weight, 36 troy oz.
