George Adams

George Adams was an accomplished English silversmith who worked during the 18th century. He was born in 1770 and apprenticed to the renowned silversmith Matthew Boulton. Adams eventually became a partner in the firm of Boulton & Fothergill.

In 1814, after Boulton’s retirement, Adams took over the business and continued to produce high-quality silverware under his own name, George Adams & Sons. The firm was known for its exquisite craftsmanship and innovative designs, particularly in the Regency style.

Adams’ silver pieces often featured elaborate ornamentation, intricate chasing, and engraved decoration. He created a wide range of silverware, including tea sets, serving dishes, candelabras, and tableware, which were highly sought after by the wealthy elite of the time. Notable for antique silver cutlery in the greatest patterns of the Victorian period.
