Hallmarked in Birmingham in 1910, this large goblet stands 24cm high and weighs 500g. It has a broad plain bowl circled by a band of chased scrolling foliage, set on a knopped stem and stepped foot, and bears the maker’s mark D & MF. The combination of scale, weight and restrained decoration gives it real presence. Large enough for a presentation or sporting prize, and equally handsome displayed on its own.

A treated silver polishing cloth is usually enough for light tarnish; for heavier tarnish use a silver foam or cream, rinse with warm water and dry thoroughly. Avoid silver dip for hollow pieces. Store wrapped in acid-free tissue or a tarnish-proof bag, and keep rubber bands away from silver.
