Beyond retail, we offer valuation, restoration, and hand-engraving as ongoing services — the same trade a silver dealer in the Vaults has always done, not a recent addition. Both John and Simon Surtees are members of the Goldsmiths’ Company, which oversees UK hallmarking, and we’ve traded from the London Silver Vaults since 1994.
John Surtees’ career in precious metals began at The Royal Mint in 1968; his son Simon began his own apprenticeship in the Vaults at sixteen. That’s the background behind these services — not a general retailer offering valuation as an add-on, but a family that has handled silver professionally for decades.
Get in touch with the purpose of your valuation — insurance, sale, or general interest — and we can advise on what's needed.
From minor repairs to more involved restoration work, get in touch with the piece and its condition and we can advise on what's possible.
Available on most pieces we sell, and often on pieces you already own — a name, a date, or a short inscription. Get in touch with what you have in mind.
For any of these services, the most useful first step is getting in touch directly — by phone, email, or in person at the showroom — with a description of the piece and what you’re hoping to do. We’ll advise from there.
Whatever the piece and whatever you need done with it, our showroom team in the London Silver Vaults are happy to talk it through.
