A very fine antique silver inkstand with a bell in the George I style. This wonderfully heavy inkstand is a direct copy of a Paul de Lamerie original of c. 1725. At this period, bells were often incorporated so one could ring for your servant to take your letter. The inkwells still retain their original glass inserts and all the parts are hallmarked. The inkstand is in excellent condition and completely handmade.
