Cream jugs are part of the same tradition as our teapots and coffee pots, but kept as their own category rather than folded into Teaware, since we hold a particularly deep range worth its own space. Every piece is hallmarked, guaranteeing the silver content under UK law, and a cream jug is a genuinely practical, affordable way into silver teaware, whether bought alone or to complete an existing set.

Style & Maker History

Cream jugs developed alongside teapots and coffee pots as tea and coffee drinking became more established in Britain. As with teapots, style and proportion shifted with fashion across the Georgian, Victorian, and later periods, though a cream jug was almost always the smaller, simpler companion piece rather than the centrepiece of a set.

Buyer's Guide

If you already own a teapot or wider tea service, it’s worth checking the period and pattern against what you have, since styles moved with fashion the same way teapots did — see the Teaware category for that fuller history. Bought alone, a cream jug is one of the more affordable ways into silver teaware.
