Silver Wine Cooler

Cooling wine in ornate silver vessels traces back to the Italian Renaissance, when large, roomy bowls were the norm — the more compact, pail-like shape seen here developed later, once ice became part of the process. This cooler carries bead mounting to the rim, base, and body, with a gold-gilt interior that both protects the silver and adds a warmer contrast inside. At roughly 1kg, fully English hallmarked.
