Spoon London - 1629

£1,700.00

An antique silver Charles I baluster decorated seal top spoon. The spoon is engraved to the top with the prick dotted initials of the original owner - which looks to be "E C" and the date "1629". The last numeral is unclear, but it is believed it would be "9". The spoon is in good overall condition but shows some pit marks (mostly to the back). The spoon was found buried near Lavenham in Suffolk in 1932, so would have been pitted by acids in the soil. An interesting spoon. Dimensions: length 17.2 cm, weight 1.38 troy oz.
